Three-year-olds usually speak in sentences as they begin to develop their ability to tell stories and build their imagination.

At three-years-old, play becomes more complex and elaborate. They begin to connect play to their daily life and use their imagination to create stories related to their play.

It’s important that your child has access to toys that support their developmental level to keep them on track with their milestones.

Coogam Magnetic Fishing Game

Why I love it:

  • Fun for taking turns and building basic concept knowledge like matching, colors, and letters.

  • Great introduction to letters... BUT don’t get too distracted by the letters!

Orbrium Wooden Train Set

Why I love it:

  • Creates opportunities for problem solving and to ask for help if needed.

  • Encourages constructive, functional, and pretend play, which are all important play stages at this age.

Play Doh Fun Tub

Why I love it:

  • All the fun of Play-Doh without any unnecessary and distracting bells and whistles.

  • Ideal for turn taking and imagination building.

  • When the original Play-Doh goes hard, make your own Play-Doh and continue to use the tools.

B. Marble Run

Why I love it:

  • A fun problem solving toy that your child can grow with.

  • Perfect for eliciting lots of varied language, including descriptive words like fast, slow, tall, and short.

*Since marbles can be a choking hazard, this is a toy that should be played with adults.

Lucky Ducks

Why I love it:

  • A perfect early game that is an enjoyable toy until your child is ready to follow the rules.

  • Fun opportunities for matching and learning shapes.
